should be cooked for a long time to get rid of the oil to prevent toxicity. Large dosage and long term usage can cause blindness.

Side effects include dizziness, headache, chest pain, fever, weakness, insomnia and loss of appetite.

須久煎去其表面浮油,以 防中毒。多服本藥會失明。

其他副作用包括頭暈﹐頭痛﹐胸痛﹐發熱﹐無力﹐失眠﹐食慾減少。

Intra-muscular injection can lead to necrosis. Intravenous or subcutaneous injection can cause hemolytic anemia, hematuria and proteinuria.

 This herb is very toxic. It is mainly for external use. If it is to be taken orally, it should be diluted in the formula. Do not over dose or use for long period. When it is used externally, it also should not be used in large amount or for prolong use. Patients with yinxu (yin deficient) condition, gastro-enteritis, or eye diseases should not use this herb.

本品毒性很大，一般只作外用，內服宜慎。必須作內服時，當稀釋於復方中用，不可過量或持續服用。外用也不得過量或久用。 陰虛血熱、胃腸炎症、目症患者均忌服。

不可作肌肉注射以免引起肌肉壞死。靜脈或皮下注射能引起溶血性貧血﹐血尿, 蛋白尿。
