Using microwave to process food or Chinese medicine can be harmful because it may destroy the active ingredients of alkaloids.
 

But, in the Zhong Hua Ben Cao (Chinese Materia Medica) contain a statement like this:

“(4) Microwave drying process
Microwave is a high-frequency electromagnetic waves. Microwave drying is actually an induction heating
And dielectric heating, the herbs in water and fat can absorb microwave energy
Volume, and transformed into heat, and rapidly warming dry. Microwave drying with the drying rate
Fast, time is short, uniform heating, high product quality, high thermal efficiency, and insecticide, sterilization effect."

用微波爐處理食物或中藥

可能用微波爐乾燥處理中藥的方法可能有害的;因為會把大部份的有效成份的生物碱成份消滅掉。

中華本草有這樣的說法。

微波乾燥處理

微波是一種高頻電磁波。微波乾燥實際上是一種感應加熱

和介質加熱, 藥材中的水份和脂肪等能不同程度地吸收微波能

量, 並將它轉變為熱量, 迅速升溫乾燥。微波乾燥具有乾燥速度

快, 時間短, 加熱均勻, 產品質量高, 熱效率高, 且有殺虫, 滅菌的

作用。
