Influenza of Wind Heat Type Syndrome  風熱感冒

The wind heat type of flu or cold is induced by the heat on the exterior of the body. The syndrome includes: feeling of more fever than chill, avoiding wind,  sweating, yellow or sticky phlegm, stuffy nose with yellow mucus, thirsty and longing to drink liquid,  tongue with red tip and sides with light white and slightly yellow fur, floating tight pulse.

Treatment: use acrid and cool herb to relief exterior.

Use formulae like:  yin qiao san,  sang ju yin, jie geng tang, shang qing san, ju hua san etc. If it does not heal for a long time, the patient can be deficient. Then, do not relief exterior. If it is yang deficient, it is suitable to add ren shen, bai zhu.  If it is yin deficient, add di huang, wu wei zi, double the amount of mai dong, bai shao.

風熱感冒是風熱之邪犯表,肺氣失和所致。症狀表現為發熱重,微惡風,頭脹痛,有汗,咽喉紅腫疼痛,咳嗽,痰粘或黃,鼻塞黃涕,口渴喜飲,舌尖邊紅,苔薄白微黃,脈搏浮緊。

治宜辛涼解表,發散風熱。藥方可考慮 銀翹散 桑菊飲桔梗湯,上清散,菊花散等。若久而不愈,其人必虛,不得專用發散 之藥。陽虛宜加人 參白朮陰虛宜加地 黃五味子,倍麥 冬白 芍
