Samples of formulae: 處方舉例﹕ | Spitting blood nonstop: Name of Formula: bai lian tang Composition: bai lian 90 g, e jiao 60 g (baked) Make into coarse powder. Use 6 g each time. Boil with one glass of mixture of water and rice wine with 40 c.c. of raw di huang juice. Simmer together till 70% is left. Strain and drink while warm. If there is no raw di huang juice, use dry raw di huang 0.3 g as substitute. 吐血不止: 藥方名：白蘞湯 《聖濟總錄》卷六十八
組成： 白蘞3兩，阿膠2兩（炙令燥）。
上為粗末。
用法用量：每服2錢匕，酒、水共1盞，加生地 黃汁2合，同煎至7分，去滓溫服。如無地黃汁，加生乾地黃1分同煎亦得。 |
Modern Research: 現代研究﹕ |
For acute and chronic infection type of diarrhea: use powdered bai lian in capsules with 0.3 g per capsule. Take 6 capsules, 3 times per day. Result: 140 cases. Effective rates were 96.55% and 91.66%.[1]For cracked skin of hands and feet: bai lian, bai ji 30 g each, da huang 50 g. Bake to brown color and add bing pian 3 g. Mix with refined honey. Apply externally. Result: 55 cases with total effective rate of 94.5% [2] 治療急、慢性菌痢: 白蘞研末裝入膠囊，每粒0.3g，每次服6粒，每日3次，140例，有效率分別為96.55%、91.66%[1]； 治療手足皮膚皸裂: 白蘞、白及各30g、大黃50g，焙黃研粉加入冰片3g，蜂蜜調勻，外用，55例，總有效率94.5% [2]。 扭挫傷和皮膚化膿性感染: 白蘞外用，，效果均較好。
