Age spots Age spots were called liver spots. They are flat, brown or black spots that can appear on areas of the skin exposed to the sun. They have nothing to do with the liver or liver function. [1]
The cause: exposure to ultra violet light, like sunlight or tanning lights. The inducing causes and therapy methods are as follows.

黑斑乃因榮衛不利，氣滯絡阻，血漬成瘀，多成點狀色澤較淡，且多自幼既有，緣由氣血虛弱使然；或因脾虛不能統血血溢脈外成淤斑，其面色較黃，瘀點稍大而黑；或因肝經火旺，血熱妄行溢絡，瘀阻而成斑，其斑多成片狀，初始如陰影，久則色黑。 氣滯 血淤者，以補氣行滯通瘀為法，常以： 血熱溢絡者，當以清肝瀉熱通絡，涼血散瘀為法，常以： 脾虛氣弱者，當以補脾生血，行氣散瘀為法，常以： 【方名】桂枝茯苓丸
[功效]﹕活血，化瘀，消徵 主治﹕ 婦女月經不調，瘀血阻滯腹痛，以及胎死腹中等症。 【組成】﹕ 桂枝 6 g﹐茯苓 6 g﹐牡丹皮 6 g﹐桃仁 6 g﹐赤芍 6 g。
【方名】當歸芍藥湯
【組成】
外用藥方﹕ (1) 益母草塗方《普濟方》: 將益母草500克切成細段,晒干以後燒成灰. 再用醋和為丸, 燒通紅,如此7次,研細過篩,用蜜和均勻,儲存瓷器中備用.於每晚臨睡前,先用溫米泔水(即含有米粉或者米糠的水)洗面,再塗以此藥於面部.本方具有活血化淤,白潤皮膚的作用, 治療雀斑.黑斑.粉刺 [1]http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001141.htm
