For orally consumption: use in decoction: 1-3 g (fresh herb 15-30 g), or
in pills or powder form. External use: appropriate amount. Bake but
retain property. Make into powder and apply. Or, use fresh herb. Smash
and apply or bundle the herb and boil with water and rub on the skin.
內服：煎湯，1-3g (鮮草15-30g）；或入丸、散。外用：適量，煅存性研末撒，或用鮮品搗敷、扎把燈芯草煎湯外擦。 |

① For treatment of
Urination difficulty due to urinary infection
or stone formation: deng xin cao 30 g, mai dong 15 g, gan cao 15
g. Make into strong tea and take orally.
② For treatment of edema: deng xin cao 120 g. Make into decoction
and take orally.
③For treatment of urinary infection: fresh deng xin cao, che qian cao,
feng wei cao 30 g each. Add water from rinsing rice. Make into
decoction. Take orally. [5]
④For treatment of bladder inflammation,
urethritis, nephritis edema: fresh deng xin cao 30 to 60 g, fresh che
qian cao 60 g, yi yi ren 30 g, hai jin sha 30 g. Boil with water to make
into decoction and take orally.[5]
⑤ For treatment of nephritis: fresh
deng xin cao 30 ~!60 g, fresh che qian cao 30 g, fresh di dan cao 30 g.
Boil with water to make into decoction and
take orally.

⑥ For treatment of insomnia, upset:deng
xin cao 15 g. Boil with water and make into decoction and use as tea.
Drink often. [3]
⑦ For treatment of small children heat type of
seizure: deng xin cao 3 to 6 g, che qian cao 3 whole plants. Add boiling
water and simmer to make decoction. Take orally.
①治五淋癃閉：燈心草一兩，麥門冬、甘草各五錢。濃煎飲。[4]
② 治水腫：燈心草四兩。水煎服。[4]
③ 治熱淋：鮮燈心草、車前草、鳳尾草各一兩。淘米水煎服。[5]（《河南中草藥手冊》）
④治膀胱炎、尿道炎、腎炎水腫：鮮燈心草一至二兩，鮮車前二兩，薏苡仁一兩，海金沙一兩。水煎服。（《河南中草藥手冊》）
⑤治腎炎水腫：鮮燈心草一至二兩，鮮車前草一兩，鮮地膽草一兩。水煎服。[6]
⑥治失眠、心煩：燈心草六錢。煎湯代茶常服。[3]
⑦治小兒熱驚：燈心草一至二錢，車前草三株。酌沖開水燉服。[7]
⑧治小兒心煩夜啼：燈心草五錢。煎二次，分二次服。（江西《中草藥學》）
⑨治黃疸：
㈠ 燈心草、天胡荽各一兩。水煎，加甜酒少許調服。
㈡ 燈心草五錢，鮮枸杞根一兩，陰行草五錢。水煎，糖調服。（江西《中草藥學》）
⑩ 治濕熱黃疸：鮮燈心草一至二兩，白英（鮮）一至二兩。水煎服。（《福建中草藥》）
⑾ 治急性咽炎，咽部生顆粒或舌炎，口瘡：燈心草一錢，麥門冬三錢，水煎服；亦可用燈心炭一錢，加冰片一分，同研，吹喉。（《河北中藥手冊》）
⑿ 治走馬喉痺：壁蟢窠（燒灰）、燈心（燒灰）、枯礬各等分。為細末吹之。（《村居救急方》）
⒁ 治乳蛾：燈草（以咸鹵浸透，入雞子殼中封固，煅存性，研細）加粱上塵及青魚膽、明礬、銅青，點咽喉。虛脫人及中寒人勿用。（《本草匯》）
⒂ 治鼻衄不止：燈心（焙）一兩。搗羅為散，入丹砂一錢，研。每服二錢匕，米飲調下。（《聖濟總錄》燈心散）
⒃ 治破傷：燈心爛嚼，和唾貼之，用帛裹。（《勝金方》） ⒄治乳癰乳吹：水燈心一兩。酒水各半煎服。（《中醫藥實驗研究》）
⒅ 治陰疳：燈心草（燒灰），入輕粉、麝香（共研末涂敷）。（《綱目》）
⒆ 傷口流血。用燈心草嚼爛敷患處。 ⒇鼻血不止。用燈心草一兩為末，加丹砂一錢。每服二錢，米湯送下。
⒇ 失眠。用燈心草煎水代茶喝。
