Huperzine A 

Huperzine A （石 杉碱甲 ) is a saponin extracted from the Chinese herb Hyuperzia serrata, Thunb ( 蛇 足 石 杉 ) also called qian ceng ta ( 千 層 塔 ) by the general public in China . It is a strong inhibitor of acetylcholinesterase. It is more effective than tacrine, galanthamine and physostigmine (Antilirium) ( 毒扁豆碱 ). It has been approved  in China for treatment of Alzheimer Disease.
