Indole is a colorless to yellowish solid. The chemical formula is C ₈ H ₇ N. It has a low melting point and a fecal odor, found in the oil of jasmine, clove, durian, and as a putrefaction product from intestines of animals. It is used in perfumery and as a reagent.

吲哚是一種無色至微黃色固體。化學式為C 8 H7 N.它具有熔點低，有糞便的氣味。
吲哚 存在於茉莉花，丁香，榴蓮 等之揮發油中，與為動物的腸子內腐爛產品。
它用在香料和作為試劑用。
