ma xing gan shi tang 麻杏甘石湯  (in English and Chinese 中英文)

Syndrome: exogenous cold attacks, heat in lung syndrome. Fever not subsiding, panting, thirst, tongue with thin yellow moss, floating and rapid pulse.

Clinical application: Cough, dry cough, bronchitis, bronchiectasis, asthmatoid bronchitis, bronchopneumonia, chest pain, thirst, difficulty in breathing, tachypnea, diphtheria, hemorrhoids, spontaneous perspiration, palpitations, cardiac asthma, feeling feverish, lung gangrene, pneumonia, emphysema, whooping cough, measles.

ma huang 9 g,  xing ren 9 g, gan cao 6 g, shi gao  18 g (smashed and wrap with cotton cloth), 18 g.

Add water and make into decoction and use as tea.

Side effect: Long term usage may lead to pseudohyperaldosteronisim.

麻杏甘石湯　　（傷寒論）

麻黃 9 克，杏仁 9 克，甘草 6克，石膏18 克 （棉布包）

 主治：外感風寒、肺熱壅盛證。身熱不解，喘逆氣急甚，或鼻翼煽動，口渴，舌苔薄黃，脈浮滑而數。

現代臨床應用： 咳嗽，乾咳，氣管支炎，氣管支擴張症，氣管支喘息，支氣管肺炎，胸痛，口渇，呼吸困難，呼吸促迫，白喉，痔核，自汗，心悸亢進，心臓喘息，熱感，肺壊疽，肺炎，肺氣腫，百日咳，麻疹 。

副作用
長期服用可能導致假性醛固酮增多症 (pseudohyperaldosteronism)
