Architected and implemented the system used to layout user interfaces in the Netscape 6 and the Mozilla web browsers called the "Box Layout System". Increased market coverage by providing a way for developers to write user interfaces once for many platforms. Netscape 6 and Mozilla run on 16 different platforms including Windows, Linux, and Mac. Project lead and architect for the accessibility team. Responsible for designing a system to allow 3^rd party accessibility products such as Jaws and Window Eyes to interface with Netscape 6 and Mozilla. This allowed AOL to compete on US government contracts, which had mandatory accessibility requirements.

Architected and implemented a HTML Browser/Editor, "Aristotle II" that allows users to design web applications for the Netscape Application Server. Written in Java using the JFC toolkit, Aristotle II currently runs on Windows and Solaris.

Designed and implemented a spring and struts based layout system called "Sprocket". Sprocket decreased development time and resources by allowing high level designers to create user interfaces in a simple scripting language.

Created and implemented a HTML Editor, "Aristotle" that allows users to visually build HTML/JavaScript applications. Aristotle was the first and only HTML editor at Netscape to be written entirely in Java based on the IFC toolkit.

Designed and implemented the "Twister" widget set used by Visual JavaScript and the JavaScript debugger. The toolkit consisted of a collection of reusable layout managers and user interface controls.  "Twister" allowed both products to be shipped on several platforms including Windows and Solaris. 

Project lead and designer. Developed a prototype in C++ to control parts of the communication between IRIDIUM satellites and cellular phone clients.

Member of a twelve-person team responsible for designing and implementing graphics subsystems of the IRIDIUM network management system.

Created design specifications using object oriented analysis (Rumbaugh's OMT methodology) and implemented them in C++.

All designs and implementations required rigorous SCI level 3 development procedures to ensure reliability. This involved formal inspections and unit testing.

Created a user interface that allowed designers to construct relational databases.

Implemented systems in C++ using the cross-platform toolkit, InterViews 2.1.

Systems were designed using object oriented analysis (Booch's Method) and the Rational Rose case tool.

Designed and implemented an animated simulation to demonstrate Ken Goldberg's robotics algorithm.

Implemented in C++ using object oriented techniques.
