　　Abstract: Objective: To investigate the clinically curative effects of integrated traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and western medicine (WM) on scleredema neonatorum (SN)

.Methods:62 cases with SN were randomly divided into two group.

The treatment group (n=32) based on conventional therapy were treated with Shenfu Decoction(参附汤) plus some herbs given by nasogastrictube feed or orally and composite salvia miltiorrhiza injection infused intravenously, otherwise the control group (n=30) treated with conventional therapy alone.The curative effects were observed for two groups.

Results: In treatment group the total effective rate (93.75％),the time for scleredema to subside 〔（3.35±0.39）days〕,and the time for relieving 〔（3.70±0.26）days〕 were significantly better than those 〔60.00％,（4.53±0.45）days and （5.48±0.41）days〕 respectively in control group (all P<0.01).

Conclusions:Shenfu Decoction plus some herbs combined with composite salvia miltiorrhiza injection possess the actions on activating the blood circulation to remove blood stasis (活血化瘀), recovering body temperature and skin temperature, anti-inflammatory reaction, anti-shock, and lifting Yang and recuperating adversity (举阳回逆) and have sufficiently curative effects on treating SN.
