Self-Actualization
The
realized self is like a lotus in full blossom.
Floating
on the waters, the flower is rooted deep down below the water in the mud.
It
has grown and blossomed in the light of the sun.
In
the same way, the human soul is rooted in the depths of the unconscious.
Our
conscious self is only a fragment of our total being.
It
strikes its roots deep down below in the depths of the unconscious.
We
cannot, therefore, achieve self-actualization
without incorporating
all the different forces of the unconscious
intothe
concrete texture of our personality.
But
that is not all.
The
self is also what it is in response to the light of the superconscious.
The
self cannot be fully actualized without the discovery
ofthe
infinite light of Being-realization.
Our
life becomes completely integrated only as a result
ofour
awareness of the reality of the super-conscient.
