My Story
I love being with individuals and groups in heart-centered ways that nurture the unique spiritual unfolding of each human being. I also enjoy playing with my grandchildren, walking with friends, and traveling around the world. Life unfolds with showers of blessings.
However, at the age of twenty-nine, I was filled with despair. During the sixth month of my second pregnancy, I became paralyzed. Losing the ability to walk meant that I couldn’t live as I had envisioned. I didn’t lift, bathe, feed, or dress my infant daughter or her older sister for the next five years. Learning to meditate alleviated my pain and suffering. Bed-ridden, I meditated several hours each day, and gradually my identity as a woman, wife and mother shifted. So did my perceptions of what it meant to be alive. After a third major surgery, a miracle occurred. I learned to walk again.
Subsequently, I became an English and AVID teacher, initiating anti-racist school reform efforts for thirty-two years. The challenges inherent in such system-wide transformations led me to graduate school to figure out how to become a more effective catalyst for change. That inquiry led me to investigate how to free myself from the limitations of my consciousness.
I inquired into the supposition that my habits, feelings, thoughts and beliefs—although they seemed real—were not my true identity. Nourished by my qigong teacher’s unconditional love and supported by daily meditation practices, the ways I perceived and made sense of this world shifted radically.
My life has long been blessed with extraordinary meditation teachers, and now I too have been called to teach embodied meditation practices.
If you, just like me, know pain and suffering …
If you, just like me, experience self-limiting habits, feelings, thoughts and beliefs …
If you, just like me, seek to live joyously …
Then join me so that we can journey together on this path to freedom – letting being unfold freely.
May our time together be experienced as communion.
May our relationship nourish the unique expression of your life and mine.
May our lives—and all lives—blossom with showers of blessings.
