Abnormally low potassium concentration on the blood, resulting from loss by
renal secretion due to renal disease, drug actions (diuretic, amphotericin
B, or corticosteroid therapy), dialysis or mechanical suction of
gastrointestianl secretions vomiting, diarrhea or
hormone imbalance. In severe cases cardiac arrhythmias and death might result.
