huang lian e jiao tang 黃連阿膠湯 by: Joe Hing Kwok Chu 按此看中文 Name of Formula: huang lian e jiao tang （Shang Han Lun)Diagnosis: Heart fire is high , yinxu ( yin deficient), tongue coating is yellow and tip is red, rapid thin pulse, over-worked mentally, restlessness and insomnia, dry mouth, boils in the mouth and tongue, frequent dream , forgetfulness, neurasthenia. Present day application: insomnia, schizophrenia, bleeding disorder, pneumonia, enteritis, erysipelas, scarlet fever, meningitis, cerebral hemorrhage, hypertension,psoriasis, itchy skin. Composition : huang lian 1 1/2 qian, , huang qin 3 qian, bai shao 4 qian, e jiao 3 qian, chicken egg yolks 2 pieces. Add water and boil all herbs except e jiao. After the decoction is ready, strain and then add e jiao and dissolve it in the liquid. Make into 2 servings. Add one chicken egg yolk to each serving while the liquid is hot. 1 qian = 3.75 grams (old measurement) Source: zhang zhong jing 黃連阿膠湯 《傷寒論 》 主治： 滋陰清心。適用於用陰虛而腦過度。證見﹕心煩不眠，五心煩熱，口乾津少，口舌生瘡，多夢健忘， 腦神經衰弱。 現代應用於：睡眠障礙，精神分裂症，諸出血症，肺炎，腸炎，丹毒，猩紅熱，腦膜炎，腦溢血，高血壓，乾癬，皮膚搔癢症。
處方： 黃連錢半﹐阿膠三錢 沖服﹐黃芩三錢﹐芍藥四錢。 先煎黃連, 黃芩, 芍藥。 過濾後﹐ 再溶化阿膠入藥汁內， 加卵黃一個沖服. 分二次服用。服時每服藥加雞蛋黃一枚。
